West Monroe will be holding its first ever quiz bowl tournament at West Monroe High School (203 Riggs St., West Monroe, LA, 71291) on March 3rd. Teams can register on the NAQT website at https://www.naqt.com/registration/register.jsp?tournament_id=9230 The base team registration fee is $60 with a $10 discount per buzzer system, and we encourage you to bring as many teams as you can to the competition. We will be using packet IS-170. This tournament is eligible to qualify your team for HSNCT. We will provide the staple Five Buck Quiz Bowl Lunch: pizza, chips, and a drink for all the students. Louisiana Tech Winter Tournament Announcement

Louisiana Tech University is proud to announce that we will be holding our fifth annual Louisiana Tech Winter Tournament on Saturday, December 16, 2017. Registration/check-in for the tournament will take place from 8:00-8:30 a.m., with a welcome meeting for coaches & players at 8:30. Preliminary games will take place following the welcome meeting (no later than 9am) to noon. Lunch will not be provided, as there are many local food options near the Louisiana Tech campus. The field is capped at 24 teams, with every team being guaranteed to play 7 games. Standings will be determined by win-loss record. Ties will be broken by Points per Bonus, and then Points per Game. Lusher Charter School in New Orleans, Louisiana is pleased to announce that the Lusher Invitational High School Quiz Bowl Tournament will take place on Saturday, November 11. We will be using NAQT’s IS-170 set. Each team is guaranteed at least eight rounds of play. As registration numbers come in, we will be able to let you know how many rounds we anticipate and what the setup on tournament day will look like. Recent Tournament Results

At the French Quarter Kickoff held at Xavier University on September 30th, Strake Jesuit from Houston placed first over Jesuit High School of New Orleans. Lusher and Ben Franklin tied for third place. All four earned bids for NAQT's High School National Championship Tournament. At C.E. Byrd's Fall Tournament held on October 7th, teams from Windhaven Park from Plano, TX placed first and second. Dutchtown placed third over North Caddo. Again, all four teams earned bids to the HSNCT. Congratulations to Laya Tummala who was named High School Player of the Week by NAQT.

Congratulations to Coppell, who placed first at the Tal Atkins Memorial Quiz Bowl Tournament held at Caddo Magnet High School. C.E. Byrd A placed second, followed by West Monroe A and Dutchtown A. The sixteen team field came from across Louisiana, with Coppell traveling from the Dallas area. Full results are available here and will be available on the NAQT website soon.
